2018 IPC Bronze Medalist!!! – Professional Photographers of America
2018 IPC Bronze Medalist!!! Over the past few days, PPA’s panel of judges have been reviewing entries for the Professional Photographers of America 2018 International Photographic Competition. A few moments ago, I received the final score for my entries, and I am thrilled to announce that all four images made it to a merit level!!! This means I have achieved the Bronze Medal for “Photographer of the Year!”
I just joined up with PPA this past Spring and placed two out of four at the regional level. Over the past several months, I have continued to work towards improving my skills both shooting and editing. I could not have done any of this without my mentor, Gaby Chung! She has been so encouraging throughout the process and I owe her a huge thank you!!! I am hooked on competitions now and can already see huge progress in my ability to shoot better straight out of camera, and fine tune my edits to create beautiful portraits for myself and my clients.
The IPC offers photographers from all over the globe to enter their images, which are judged against a standard of excellence of 12 elements: impact, technical excellence, creativity, style, composition, presentation, color balance, center of interest, lighting, subject matter, technique and storytelling.
There’s still time to hop online and view some of the other images during their live stream judging!

PPA’s Loan Collection images are published each year in the much-anticipated “Loan Collection” book and over 200 selected General Collection images are published in its sister edition, the “Showcase” book, produced by Marathon Press. All accepted images will also be on display at the IPC Exhibit at Imaging USA, held each year in January. And the winners at the IPC are then eligible for the Grand Imaging Awards, which are also presented each year at Imaging USA.
I have been so anxious to see these results and share the images I worked so hard on with all of my friends and family. Thank you all for your support as I follow this dream!
